Graham ******************************************************************** To: Joan Power Re: Similar left eye dominant but right handed problem as yours. Things in the distance are clear using my left eye (possibly the dominant one), while my right eye needs a corrective lens to see clearly past my outstretched hand. And yes, I'm a right-handed air rifle shooter. I wear a corrective lens and look through its center area, so I make sure the knobloch eyepiece frame is correctly adjusted to my line of sight - target to body position, also make sure it is parallel to my face. The left eyepiece is blocked off with a bit of black cardboard (a space age material, ha ha!) and that works for me. I've seen other shooters with enough blinders on (additional blinder on the left eyeglass stem plus extended bill cap) to make a horse envious but it's just a matter of concentration and technique to become a National Team top shot with a "bad" eye. If you're wearing any corrective lens on the right eye, just remember to check the position of the glass as the rubber eyecup may nudge this about when you settle into position. Just get your right eye tested, get yourself a knobloch (strap it to your head with an adjustable eyeglass strap in case it falls off often) and a left blinder, test this until you start grouping nicely and without having to twist. Just get used to the equipment and position and you'll be fine. See their web site at http://www.issf-shooting.org/ for updates.] Dear shooting friends, 1999 World Cup Series will be continued in Europe next week.... ...Record participation for Munich World Cup After Seoul, Korea, the world's best shooters in rifle, pistol and running target will continue the 1999 World Cup Series next week in Munich. The largest number of shooters ever is scheduled to participate in the 13th ISSF World Cup Munich which will take place at the Olympic shooting range, Munich-Hochbrueck, from 19th to 23rd May. No less than 767 shooters representing 74 countries will take part, making this without question one of the major shooting events of this year. All five continents will be represented, and we can expect an exceptional shooting event in Munich. Most of the shooters will try to get one of the important starting places (quota places) for the upcoming Olympic Games in Sydney 2000. Only the winners of the world cup will secure a ticket for the Games. Exciting competitions are expected which the spectators will be able to follow on multi-media screens at the venue. But even the spectators at home will also be able to follow the competitions "live on air" via Internet. Be where it's happening - at the venue or on Internet.
