In this issue: Pistol Shooting Stance Items for sale Freeland's jackets / New Anschutz stock World Cup Schedule Ural Free Rifle??? Need Rapid Fire Pistol Help ******************************************************************** I am a beginner shooter and am a little confused regarding stance and dominant eye. It seems my dominant eye is the left and I am a right handed shooter therefore I have to take up a somewhat sideways stance. I have been given a variance of advice without the aid of a coach. Could you please give me some direction. Would it be better for me to use a lens on my right eye? Any guidelines gratefully accepted. Thanks. Joan Power Toowoomba Australia [Editor - I'm assuming you must be a rifle shooter. If you are young and have access to lefty equipment give that a try for a while to see if you can learn it. Otherwise, I would use a blinder for the left eye. Don't put the blinder really close - you still want plenty of light into the left eye. You should use a lens if your eye requires correction to 20/20. I shoot rifle lefty but pistol righty (with my left eye).] ******************************************************************** I have the following for sale: ANCHUTZ 380 Air Rifle Like New Cond. Does anyone have experience with these jackets and can either recommend them or recommend against them? Also, what are the opnions of the new Anschutz 2213 aluminum chassis stock? Cheers, Andrew Hartman Captain St. Andrews University Rifle Club [Editor - don't forget to add shipping to you. Anyway, these are generic fit, of course, so if you are generically sized, it may work just fine. However, I have not seen one fit really good. Since I believe you only shoot prone there, it should be fine though. As for the new stock, it's supposed to be better than Walther's (even more adjustments), but who knows?] ****************************************************************** I am travelling to Europe in the last two weeks of June and the first week of July. Does anyone know if a World Cup (air rifle or small bore) match wil be held over there in this time span. If yes can you tell me where and when? I am also interested in becoming more active in the ISSF Grand Prix circuit. I know about the Toronto match and I have heard about a possible American match. Can any one give me some dates, locations and contant info for these events. Cheers Dave Woolridge MUN Sea~Hawks Rifle team [Editor - Nope. It will be in Atlanta during that time. There is a 300m event in Winterthur, Switz June 24-27 but all else shown on the calendar is shotgun.] ****************************************************************** Mike: I have been asked about a rifle, and I can't seem to find any info. Maybe some of your readers can help. Need help with info on a Ural 5-1 free rifle with use of the weights and adjusting the butt-hook. Contact Don Williams at bawilli@ibm.net if you can help. ****************************************************************** I would like to ask some shooters about solution my problem. I have a quite earnest problem by shooting at the rotary target. I am a rapid fire pistol shooter. While shooting at the first target it often occurs that the shots are placed lower, mostly 9 at 6 o'clock. It is caused by jerking soon before the shot but I don't know how I can manage the problem systematically. Usually I solve it by deliberate higher aiming at the upper 10 corner. Could you please give me some advice how I could solve the problem? This dificulty comes mainly under bigger physical pressure. My results level is about 585 points Thank you forward for your help Best regards Peter Mlynarcik mlynarcik@seznam.cz I have an advice for man from #21 concerning women's shooting wears. In Bratislava, Slovakia, is the manufacturer of shooting wears and accessories. His name is Peter Kundis, tel. number has +421-905-598325. I think his wears are not much expensive and their quality is acceptable. ****************************************************************** End of UIT Mailing List #25 Michael Ray - Systems Engineer Rose-Hulman Inst. of Tech.
