I'm on vacation (again) so the next issue will be in a couple weeks. In this issue: Re: Want info on UK air pistol shooting Calibrating Suis targets Want info on Barcelona range targets Australasian-Pacific "Grand Prix" Re: Opinion on Unique pistols/rifles? Re: Want info on UK air pistol shooting / Need competition mgr guidelines Re: Want info on UK air pistol shooting Selected items for sale ******************************************************************** UIT style air pistol shooting in the UK is governed by The National Small-bore Rifle Association at Bisley. Their website is at:- http://dialspace.dial.pipex.com/town/place/wa89/ [Editor - or http://ds.dial.pipex.com/nsra/nsra.htm ] Apart from running the National Championship meetings they also run postal leagues, not only in they traditional 10m slow fire air pistol events (60 shot and 40 shot) but also in the provisional UIT Air Pistol Standard and Rapid events for multi shot air pistols. They also run leagues for the traditional Standard Pistol and Sport pistol events modified to make them suitable for air pistol. We may no longer be able to shoot cartridge pistol in most of Great Britain now because of the recent legislation but the spirit of UIT shooting carries on. Hope this helps. David Levene ******************************************************************** For those who use Sius Ascor electronic targets, do you have any "calibration" routine that is carried out periodically on the targets to ensure their precision and accuracy? Ashley [Editor - Have you tried e-mailing Suis and asking? I would guess there must be something to be done since it would give bad results if one of the mics went bad.] ****************************************************************** Hi Mr. Ray! I want to ask our friends about the 47 World Championships in Barcelona ,If somebody knows if the 50 meters ranges are fully equiped with eletronic targets, as the Wolf Creek Range in Atlanta. Thank you! Fabio Coelho fjc@mandic.com.br Visite meu site na internet: http://www.geocities.com/colosseum/arena/7456 [Editor - I would think they would since they were present during the 92 games. Good luck, Fabio. Get another record!] ****************************************************************** Not Sydney, but certainly on the way to Sydney !!! Very nice equipment, but poorly distributed in the US. Parts and service are available. Doc Young used a DES .32SWL in the centerfire event for a long time. We saw a few in .22LR in Standard Pistol matches here in Indiana, too. I had a chance to shoot one for a few weeks and thought it was a great little pistol. Great job on the list! I appreciate getting it. CES ****************************************************************** Dear Michael. Just back of Holiday myself and have just seen request for U.K. air pistol details, suggested contact would be:- either myself, I have details of various clubs in England,Scotland and Wales, etc or contact the N.S.R.A. at NSRA@dial.pipex.com. contact at Bisley Camp would be Jenny Page (very helpful a friend) on mine. regards, Bob Mallet. P.S. have just heard that I have been made Smallbore Manager for the Jersey team for the forthcoming Commonwealth Games in Malaysia, this will be my first big event without a rifle so to speak, any worthwhile documentation available on managerial role? ****************************************************************** Re: UK air pistol info One of the most useful ways of finding a club to suit your needs is the publication Target Sports (most major magazine retailers) which has a Clubfinder service which lists many active clubs in GB and the staff are very helpful with addresses when phoned and asked direct questions. NSRA runs a full set of Air Pistol Postals in GB, most commencing Sept to Nov. ****************************************************************** Hammerli 480 Air Pistol .177 Scuba air or CO2 pistol, fixed tank, walnut grips, with box and all manuals and tools.
