Dear Sir/Madam,

Please let me take this opportunity to introduce myself
and the Club I represent. My name is Alan Smyth, and I
am studying for my degree at Trinity College, Dublin. I
represent the Rifle Club, which is one of the largest clubs
in the University with over 300 members. Approximately 200
of these are freshers in College.

We participate in the Olympic sport of Target Shooting at
all levels, both in this country and abroad. We organise
shooting, on campus, five nights a week and not only do
our members represent the University in the 20 national
competitions held each year in this country, but they
also represent Ireland in events such as The World Cup
(Munich and Barcelona), Intershoot (Hague and Lillie) and
(hopefully!) The Olympics (Athens).

We are currently looking sponsorship, and it is with this in
mind that we write to you. We feel we have a lot to offer,
in terms of publicity at our upcoming competition.

On Sunday 26th November, we are running our annual National
Open Competition, which will be attended by the country?s
top shooters, along with both experienced and novice
shooters from our own and other University clubs. The
competition is divided into classes, so everyone shoots
against people of their own standard, and everyone has a
chance to win a prize.

We would like to offer you the opportunity to sponsor the
event, perhaps by donating some prizes, which would of
course bear your name. The total cost for all of the prizes
for this competition would be approx. £150, but a smaller
budget could be accommodated by the Club supplying some
prizes.

We were also introducing a Perpetual Trophy for the overall
winner, which would cost £50 to buy, but would be presented
for at least the next 10 years. If you wished to donate a
trophy for this, bearing your name, that would also be a
possibility.

These are of course only possibilities, and if you have any
suggestions or ways in which you would like to be associated
with us, we would be pleased to hear from you. You can
