19,20/2/00			DURC at the Fassaroe Air Rifle Open

The Fassaroe Air Rifle Open was dominated by DURC shooters in the novice
classes this year, with first, second and third places in Class D being
taken by DURC shooters Sharon Wall (478), Aisling Broderick (469) and
Mark Dennehy (463). Ian Marnane, apparently over his hand injury, took
second place in class B with a 525, while Alan Smyth and Jason Sibley
put in scores of 459 and 444 respectively, shooting a day early to avoid
the event photograph! Some rather unsporting psychological warfare was
discussed on the Sunday's details when it was discovered that a certain
distracting poster had been placed near the firing line. However, it
was decided that no penalties should be called for since some of those
present felt it counted as UCDRC-supplied entertainment !
